Emerald City Classic (ECC) | Seattle, Washington
August 11 - 12, 2012
Starting off the weekend with a first round bye was exactly what the Doctor ordered. Nightlock was able to add a little extra time to our Kat(niss) naps and take ECC by storm just an hour later than everyone else.
Pretending the soles of our feet weren’t scalding in the uncharacteristically hot Seattle weather, we delved straight into three games in a row on the turf. Nightlock rose to defeat New York’s Bent in our first game followed by a CO Cup rematch against Seattle Underground for our second win of the day. We went on to have a hard fought loss against Traffic and ended with a 12-8 victory over Safari to end Saturday 3-1.
Sunday morning we came out strong with the D line tearing up the field and taking half vs. Texas Showdown 8-1. Showdown went on a bit of a run after half but we pulled out the win then went on to take Pop 13-7.
Our two round bye consisted of a dance party, a pool party and carrot mustard sandwiches as we prepared to face Nemesis in the last game of the tournament. Ending with a successful 5-2 record, Nightlock showed ECC that we are a force to be reckoned with. Catch us in a few short weeks at Labor Day in Santa Cruz - we’ll be the team that’s in Nightlove with each other!
